refracting experience

Makes refraction a 3D experience

An unfamiliar testing situation becomes a visual experience. PASKAL 3Duses state-of-the-art technologies for a natural visual experience during the eye examination. As a modern 3D refraction system, it enables the entire monocular refraction under binocular conditions. Throughout the refraction process the client sees separate images for the right and left eye. The separation takes place in the phoropter or in the trial lenses via special filters. A 3D monitor is used for displaing the optotypes, the monitor separates the images line by line by means of circular polarisation.

PASKAL 3D inspires opticians and spectacle wearers alike. Technically and visually. The 3D technology provides a natural and relaxed environment during refraction. The standardised process guarantees quality and ensures an optimal result. This modern 3D refraction experience is optimised for Apple iPad and Apple TV. Use this innovative basis for your success. Win new customers easily and intuitively with the latest technology.

The patented original

PASKAL 3D is not the only 3D refraction system, but it was the first. The experts put a lot of thought into the development of the tests. The color scheme and image selection was not simply random, but is part of the concept.

The use of a TV set, the presentation of a landscape image with blue sky and mountains, corresponds to natural viewing conditions. From an optometric point of view, several factors are achived at the same time:

  • a relaxation of the patient due to the familiar viewing situation
  • natural contrasts at mean spatial frequency
  • an impression of vastness for relaxed accomodation (see study Degle 2017)
  • natural binocular viewing conditions are achieved

All together, this promotes a relaxed testing situation and a pleasant factor for the customer. We proudly hold the patent valid throughout Europe for this inovative testing system.

Modern user interface

PASKAL 3D’s controls are simple and the control keys are designed to be self-explanatory and intuitive. Even those who don’t have much experience with the iPad can learn the controls in a very short time.

Eye test as a 3D event

Turn refraction into a 3D cinema experience for your customers! With PASKAL 3D you have the opportunity to turn the rather unconfortable test situation into a relaxed viewing experience.

Instructions & Training

The PASKAL 3D has been examined by many scientific studies. Therefore, there is a comprehensive description for each test. If you still have questions, we recommend that you contact your IPRO consultant. He will gladly assist you.

Invented and named by:

Dieter Kalder and Fritz Paßmann, recognised “progressive lens gurus” in the professional world, are the inventors and name givers of PASKAL 3D. Their intention was to bring a breath of fresh air into the dusty refraction process.

Dieter Kalder

certified Master optician,
Multifocal lens specialist

Dieter Kalder was instrumental in the development of progressive lenses for many years. It is therefore hardly surprising that his system PASKAL 3D has set new standards in the correlation between lenses and the eye.

Fritz Paßmann

Lecturer in optometry,
certified Trainer / HWK

Fritz Paßmann has been active in the education and training of opticians for many years. He was always convinced that eye examination offers many more possibilities in the interaction between the optometrist and the patient. He has proven this with the PASKAL 3D sensational refraction experience.

PASKAL 3D Modules

Adapt your refraction room to your needs

Standard test series

With the standard test series, you can perform a complete eyeglass examination with just eight tests. Nevertheless, all optometrically relevant information is included within this test series.

With the PASKAL N module, you can now also perform near refraction with PASKAL 3D. In addition, you will be supported with state-of-the-art equipment and intelligent software to determine the reading addition.

Com VA

With the visual acuity test using the example of driving, you can optimally relate to the everyday life of your patient. With this test series, you can check the accuracy of existing refraction results directly with the patient and optimise the VA.

Kids and Teens

Simple communication is particullary important in eye examination for children from the age of six and adolescents. The Kids&Teens module offers the opportunity to perform your tests with age-appropriate motifs.

Contact lens

This module from the PASKAL 3D family allows you to perform subjective K-readings on your patients. Above all, it offers you optimal assistance when fitting multifocal contact lenses.

Low Vision

The Low Vision Module extends the visual acuity levels that can be displayed down to 0.02. This enables you to perform the eye examination for your low vision patients at normal testing distance.
